DOTA Comic Homage

Jim Murray is a bad ass mammajamma who recently did a comic for Valve's DOTA. I started this guy about a month ago but only have been able to spend about a weeks worth of work on him because I've been so busy at work. Hope to finish this guy soon, well...maybe...we haven't released the game yet so haaah.

Rift: Storm Legion

As some of you know I've been at Trion Worlds for a bit now working on Rift. It's nearing my 1 year mark officially in the games industry. We're now working on finishing the expansion for Rift called Storm Legion. Hopefully we'll get to show some of the stuff we've been doing for it soon. Here's a couple images of stuff I've done that marketing has released. This is maybe 1/30th of the work I've done so far, so there's a lot more where this came from.

Above: Made the ninja-cyborg chick with weapons, as well as the mech above. Was a texture/model variant I did of a mech model I did earlier in production.

Above: Original mech I made as stated above :D

Hopefully more stuff starts popping up online the closer we get to release :)

Week 5-6 WIP

I've picked and my instructor approved a concept for me to model and texture by the lovely artist Kefka who you can find [[[[HERE]]]]

Here's the concept:

Aaaand here's my WIP sculpt, going for a more realistic stone but trying to keep the feel of him a bit.

Week 4~

 Turntable >>>Here<<<<

Well, it's been a BLAST working on this guy. Much more fun than I thought. Learned a little bit, screwed up here and there, but ultimately found a few new techniques for my workflow that'll speed things up a bit. He's pretty low polycount too :D

All images are in real time from Marmoset, no rendering here man!

Enough talking here's the goods!

Week 3 WIP

Here's my WIP for week 3, based on a lovely concept by Beloved Creature (Here) which is further based on "The Mock Turtle" from Alice in Wonderland.

Still needs shell and black scaley parts, will be turning him into a game character anywhere from 6-10k tris :)

Week 1 Alex's Class WIP

Based off of an awesome concept by Dave Rapoza, here's a WIP shot of the sculpt so far. Hair is a placeholder, considering doing either cards with alphas or shave and a haircut.

Gobbygobgob

This time I decided to do a full character in MR. From this sculpt I did:

To this mental ray render:

Lost a lil bit of detail with the skin shader, but I look forward to maybe addin more stuff to him as he's quite fun to work on :)

Here's a wires shot of him after retopo (8k tris, plan on possibly putting him in marmoset):
